Fake K-Cosmetics in Korea
There was a time when counterfeit cosmetics usually meant fake luxury perfume or an imitation of an expensive premium cream.
Not anymore.
As K‑beauty has grown around the world, counterfeiters have moved on to popular, affordable Korean brands. Products resembling brands such as Medicube, Beauty of Joseon, Anua and other viral K‑beauty names are now being copied and circulated.
And these are no longer the kind of obvious fakes that anyone can spot immediately.
The container looks almost identical.
The box looks convincing.
Even the QR code may be copied.
Some counterfeit products are reportedly being sold through major Korean online marketplaces such as Naver and Coupang. The price is often only slightly lower than the normal retail price—which makes the listing feel believable.
That is the clever part.
If something costs 90% less, you become suspicious. But when it is only a little cheaper, it simply looks like a good deal.
A QR Code Is Not Enough
Recent Korean reports warned that counterfeit K‑beauty products have become sophisticated enough to be difficult even for brands to distinguish at first glance.
QR authentication can help, but a QR code itself can also be copied. Product photographs, descriptions, reviews and even “expert recommendations” can be reproduced or generated for a fake listing.
With cosmetics, this is not just a trademark problem.
You are putting the product directly onto your skin. If nobody can confirm the ingredients, manufacturing environment or storage conditions, nobody can properly confirm its safety either.
Pretty packaging does not tell you what is inside.
How Aura3AM Selects Korean Cosmetics
Most of the Aura3AM collection is imported directly from Korean brands or their verified partners.
We do not use dropshipping. Never.
We manage the import process ourselves—from communication with the Korean company and product testing to customs clearance, inventory and shipping from our store in Wrocław.
When we consider importing a cosmetic product, we do not look only at the packaging or TikTok popularity.

Yes, the people matter too.
I meet and communicate with Korean brands directly. If the people behind a company are unreliable, dishonest or simply not nice to work with, Aura3AM does not place the order.
Perhaps this is not a standard cosmetic purchasing policy.
But it is ours.
Tested in Poland, Not Shipped from Somewhere Unknown
For selected brands and products, we also work with our contracted cosmetic safety assessor in Poland. The documentation and product safety are reviewed as part of the process required before cosmetics are placed on the European Union market.
It takes more time.
It creates more paperwork.
It costs more money.
But at least we know where the product came from, who manufactured it and how it reached our customers.
Aura3AM is not interested in building the largest possible catalogue by copying thousands of products onto a website.
We would rather offer a smaller and slightly crazy collection that we actually know.
No ghost inventory.
No unknown overseas seller.
No “we hope it is genuine.”
