“how do you choose products for Aura?”
Aura collection is not chosen by me alone.
Our team consists of 5 Polish members, and we select every brand and product very carefully together.
We all have different skin types, different concerns, and different opinions.
That process is important for us.
Because one product that works for only one person is not enough.
Before adding anything to Aura, we test products multiple times ourselves.
Not quick influencer-style testing. Real daily testing.
We check:
texture, hydration, irritation, performance during Polish weather etc.,
Sometimes one team member loves a product, while another says:
“Too heavy.” “Too irritating.” “Nothing special.”
And honestly, those discussions help us filter products much better.
That is why Aura collection is smaller than many other stores.
We prefer fewer products with real confidence behind them.
1. Ingredient. Ingredient. Ingredient.
The first thing we look at is always the formula.
Not packaging.
Not influencer marketing.
Not popularity.
Ingredients.
We look carefully at:
- active ingredients
- balance of the formula
- skin barrier support
- irritation potential
- actual functionality
Sometimes smaller Korean brands have much better formulations than globally viral products.
2. We Interview The Company
This part surprises many people.
We do not simply order products from a catalog.
Before selecting a brand, we usually have multiple Zoom meetings directly with the Korean company and manufacturer.
We ask many detailed questions:
- How are products manufactured?
- Where are ingredients sourced?
- What is their quality control process?
- How do they test safety and stability?
- What makes their formulation unique?
and I carefully review documents such as:
- MSDS, COA, certifications, GMP (Because we have sylwia- our labaratory for CPNP)
Sometimes products look amazing online, but after meetings and document reviews, we decide not to bring them to Aura.
Because marketing alone is never enough for us.
We want to understand what is happening behind the product too.
3. Is It Unique? (That's why we choose Millac and Makgeolli mask)
This is very important for Aura.
We are not trying to become another copy-paste K-beauty shop.
Of course some famous brands are popular globally.
But popularity alone does not impress us.
We look for real Korean beauty philosophy.
Many truly interesting Korean skincare brands never become viral internationally.
That is exactly what interests us.
Aura collection is not built by algorithm.
It is built through testing, discussion, research, meetings, and trust.
That is why we always say:
“We Tested First.™”
Not as marketing. As our actual process.
