One of the hardest things about running a small K-beauty business is that great products don't always get noticed. Big brands have huge marketing budgets, while many excellent independent brands remain hidden.
Recently, I spoke with Mr. H.Y. Park, the founder of Royawell, one of the brands we proudly distribute in Europe.
For years, he focused on developing high-quality skincare rather than spending heavily on advertising. Like many small cosmetic founders, growing sales was always a challenge.
Then something unexpected happened.
About a month ago, a Korean YouTuber with around 100,000 subscribers tried Royawell's Pink Salt Cleansing Balm and posted a YouTube Shorts video. There was no major campaign—just an honest recommendation.
Within a few days, over 2,000 cleansing balms were sold.
When Mr. Park shared this story with me, he wasn't talking about luck. Instead, he encouraged me.
"Sunny, don't hide yourself. People also want to know the person behind the products."
That really made me think.
I've always preferred introducing cosmetics instead of appearing on camera. But his words reminded me that customers don't only discover products—they discover the people and stories behind them.
As the official EU distributor of Royawell, I realized I also need to work harder to share these stories online.
Of course, Mr. Park was fortunate that the YouTuber found his product.
But luck wasn't the whole reason for its success.
The influencer chose the Pink Salt Cleansing Balm because it was genuinely impressive. If the quality hadn't been there, those sales would have disappeared just as quickly.
This is exactly why Aura3AM exists.
We don't simply follow famous brands. We search for hidden Korean brands that deserve more attention.
Maybe one YouTube Short changed Royawell's business.
But years of making an outstanding product made that moment possible.
