These days, I enjoy quiet evenings more than noisy places.
Maybe that comes with age.
As a Korean man in my mid-40s, one of my favorite ways to relax is simple — good food, a little conversation, and a cold bowl of Makgeolli.
Especially on rainy days.
Makgeolli has a soft and comforting feeling that reminds me of Korea. Not fancy. Not complicated. Just warm memories inside a bowl.
Recently, I started using a makgeolli mask pack made with Korean rice nuruk and Korean Gimpo rice. At first, honestly, I bought it because I like makgeolli. That was enough reason for me.
But after using it a few times, I understood why Korean brewery workers always say:
“People working at breweries have beautiful hands.”
They constantly touch fermented rice and nuruk during the brewing process. Soft rice, natural fermentation, rich moisture. Maybe traditional Korean people already knew something long before skincare science explained it.
The mask feels calm and comfortable on my skin. After washing it off, my face feels hydrated and rested — like finishing the day with one last glass of makgeolli after work.
Funny thing is, when I drink makgeolli these days, I sometimes think about skincare too.
Maybe getting older changes a person.
