I grew up in a very typical Korean family where we didn’t go to restaurants often.
Most meals were eaten at home.
Rice in the breakfast,
Rice for lunch.
Rice again for dinner.
Even breakfast was warm rice, soup, kimchi, and small side dishes.
Now, I’ve been living outside of Korea for more than 12 years.
My eating habits changed naturally over time.
These days, I eat many Polish western foods too.
Cheese. Chleb. Sausage. Potatoes...
But even after all these years, my main food is still rice.
When I eat rice regularly, my body feels calmer somehow.
Digestion feels easier.
Maybe because I grew up with it.
Many people think rice is just carbohydrates.
But for Koreans, rice is almost emotional food.
Even after living abroad for so long, some habits never disappear completely.
